Emergency Order 01-20

ORDER AND SUPPLEMENT TO

DECLARED STATE OF EMERGENCY

         WHEREAS, on March 12, 2020, the City manager declared a Local Emergency as a result of COVID-19; and

WHEREAS, on March 19, 2020, the City Manager extended the declared state of Local Emergency for an additional seven (7) days; and

WHEREAS, the detailed findings of governor DeSantis’ Executive Orders No. 20-52 and No. 20-68 are hereby incorporated herein by reference; and

WHEREAS, the detailed findings of Miami-Dade County Mayor Gimenez in Emergency Order No. 07-20 are hereby adopted and incorporated herein by reference;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DECLARED AND ORDERED AS FOLLOWS:

  1. All gymnasiums, fitness centers, and swimming pools located in condominiums, rental apartments, condominium hotels, hotels, and motels within the jurisdictional limits of the City of Sunny Isles Beach are hereby ordered CLOSED, effective noon today, March 22, 2020 and shall continue until further notice.
  2. In order to protect the public health, safety and welfare, and in an effort to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, a curfew is hereby established within the jurisdictional limits of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, which curfew shall commence March 22, 2020 and continue until further notice between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. No person shall be outside within the City during the curfew hours either as a pedestrian or by means of any vehicle, unless such person is providing police, fire, or other governmental services; providing assistance expressly requested by police, fire, or governmental personnel; or participating in, going to, or returning from a place of work or occupation. No person shall occupy any outside area during the curfew hours except upon the express authorization of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department. This Order shall not prohibit a person from walking a pet animal in the vicinity of his or her residence at which the animal is being maintained.
