Every ten years, a Portrait of America is taken by the United States Census Bureau. The 2010 Census will provide a clear and detailed picture of our nation, and its results will be used to determine how federal tax money is spent in states and communities.

Local governments use census data to determine what assistance is needed and where. If residents in our community go uncounted, it will directly affect the amount of federal tax dollars that our community will receive.

In February and March 2010, Census questionnaires
are being mailed or delivered to every residence.

Who should fill out the census questionnaire?
The individual in whose name the housing unit is owned or rented should complete the questionnaire on behalf of every person living in the residence, including relatives and non-relatives.
