Emily Talalaevsky, a second grade student at Sunny Isles Beach Community School, competed in the World Math Day contest along with more than a million other students around the world. Emily logged countless hours on the computer solving mathematical problems while competing with other students across the country and the globe. She was determined to do well accumulating points for each correct answer. At the end of the contest, Emily ranked 6th in the United States and 27th in the world in the number of points earned. Dr. Annette Weissman, Principal, presented Emily with a medal and certificate from the World Math Day organization at the school’s annual awards recognition assembly and extended the school’s congratulations. Sunny Isles Beach Community School is very proud of Emily’s accomplishment and the standard she set for other students in the school.
