The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida’s Riviera, celebrated its founding of 12 years on Sunday, June 14th, 2009. Over 4,000 residents and dignitaries attended the grand luau party at Samson Oceanfront Park in celebration of the city’s incorporation in 1997. Activities included a Polynesian revue, fire dancers, B.B.Q. lunch, music, crafts, games, rides, and more. And if that wasn’t enough, residents got to watch the annual Offshore Powerboat Race from the beach as an added bonus.
But the icing on the cake? Mayor Norman Edelcup and City Commissioners did their annual cake cutting for the grand finale!
A special thank you to our sponsors, Coastal Construction, Milam’s Supermarket, and Ice Cream Vendors, Inc. for helping us make this event such a big success.
