'Sunny Isles Beach Survival Guide'
By Bari Auerbach
Considering the soaring price of gas, coupled with rising FPL rates and big grocery bills, people who live in Sunny Isles Beach have to find a way to cope with the high cost of living! Here are some survival guide tips you might find helpful:
Schedule your cosmetic surgery: If you’ve been thinking about getting a cosmetic procedure that will require downtime – you won’t have to worry about buying gas for a while. All the money you’ll save can be applied toward the doctor’s bill (which you could just about pay in full if you drive a really big vehicle like a Hummer).
Call for a limo: Another great way to save on gas is to take the city’s shuttle bus - or hire a limo and the total cost just might come out less than paying at the pump…Or you could consider converting your car to drive on used cooking oil available for free at many restaurants. This option will only work if you don’t mind the perpetual aroma of “Eau de McDonalds.”
Plan candle light dinners: Rising FPL rates could be the perfect catalyst for rekindling romance! Just turn out all the lights and dine by candlelight…Better yet – go out to eat at fancy restaurants that have candles on the table. After all, many Sunny Isles Beach residents would much rather pay a higher bill with “FPL” standing for “Food, Pleasure & Luxury!”
Make more salon appointments: Just think how much electricity you could save if you didn’t blow dry your own hair! Make a standing appointment at a salon and just rationalize that in the long run, the cost will even out - and after all, looking so good is priceless!
Start a new diet now: Since the price of food keeps going up, now’s the perfect time to get that number on the scale to go down. After all, the less food you buy, the more weight you’ll lose!
Find dining companions: If you’re single, you could also opt to invest in joining Match.com so your dates pay or offer to split the tab for lunch and dinner dates. This is also a great time to start making friends with neighbors, who might be gracious enough to invite you over for lots of summer barbecues!
Times may be a bit tough, but there’s always a silver lining…Macy’s will probably start having more one day sales – and every day, Sunny Isles Beach residents can enjoy life in the city, where the best things in life are always free!
