Fine Art Sale is Grand in Sunny Isles Beach

By Sylvia Flores

On February 2nd, and 3rd, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, in partnership with Kiwanis of Sunny Isles Beach and North Miami Beach, hosted the 1st annual Charity Fine Art Sale. The event, which took place at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, was a huge success, with over $16,000 in fine art sold over the course of the weekend. Guests were able to tour the First Floor Meeting Room, where many works of art were on display, including some by Marc Chagall, Dali and even Picasso.

The Trump International Sonesta Beach resort hosted a kick-off party on Friday, February 1st. While strolling through the lobby and the upstairs meeting rooms, guests enjoyed music, hors d’oeuvres, and even the featured international artist, Valter De Morais, painting on site.

The proceeds from the event sales will benefit the Sunny Isles Beach Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, as well as other Kiwanis youth programs. The City would like to express a special thank you to the following for helping make this event possible: Ken Kruger with the Kiwanis Club, Bradley Cooper with Art Events, LLC, and Christopher Liebe with Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort.

With such a wonderful turn out this year, we are expecting an even greater response in 2009. For more information on this or other events hosted by the city, please call the Cultural & Human Services Department at 305.792.1706.
